John 17:24: “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.”

I’ll admit, I struggle with this one. We often talk at this time of year about God’s gift to us through the birth of His Son, and we should. But to think that I am also a gift to Christ sounds strange. However, if we have trusted Christ, we are a gift to the Son from the Father! What’s even more impressive is that we are with Christ and there is an aspect of God’s glory that we see.

I believe if we view ourselves in this way, we would be nicer to ourselves. We would show ourselves more grace. We would truly love our neighbor as ourself. Viewing other followers of Jesus as gifts to Jesus would change our perspective of others as well. We might be nicer, more gracious, and gentle.

What a wonderful #IdentityTruth!
