Romans 5:17: “For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!”
I remember being asked as a kid what I would do if I were “King for a Day.” It was fun to dream about being in charge. Now that I am in charge of a few things, I’ve realized that my present dreams aren’t nearly as fun as my kid-like dreams. I need to process what that means a bit more. 🙂
However, as those who are in Christ, we have incredible power. We reign in this life, not as kings, but as children of the one, true King, King Jesus! I know that right now, Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father, interceding on our behalf. Someday, King Jesus will return and sit on His throne. What a glorious day that will be.
In the meantime, we must recognize that our power and victory in this life are found in and through our relationship with Jesus Christ. It isn’t our power or goodness that leads to victory, but our reliance upon the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Jesus is the King!
Instead of asking yourself what you’d do if you were “king for a day,” ask what the King wants you to do… and then do it!
