We are raising our girls in a home without secrets and lies. The only “secrets” we are allowed to keep are presents we buy for birthdays, and even then, C is not able to keep it a secret. The reason we are doing this is that secrets and lies can destroy a family. If we are allowed to have even little secrets or tell little white lies, then who is to say bigger secrets and lies won’t materialize. Yes, this means that our girls are going to grow up without Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Occasionally, we have to tell C we will explain _____ (fill in the blank with anything a Kindergartner doesn’t understand or isn’t emotionally ready for) when she gets a bit older. These days, when we are spending more and more of our time online, it is vital to take the words from today’s verse seriously. You may be able to keep secrets from your family and friends, but not from God.
Romans 2:16: “the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.”
What secret life are you leading that needs to be brought out to the open?
