I enjoy watching the World Series of Poker because you can see everyone’s cards and what’s coming next. You have an omniscient view of the game. It gets intense when someone tries to bluff their way to a win. You know they are bluffing, they know, but none of the other players do. Some are good at reading bluffs, and some are good at bluffing. Bluffs may work in cards, but you don’t want to try to bluff your way through life. It is not a good idea to gamble in the critical aspects of life. To be successful, we must be virtuous and think before we act. This applies to all areas of your life. You don’t want to bluff your way through your marriage, parenting, work, or church.
Proverbs 21:29: “The wicked bluff their way through, but the virtuous think before they act.”
Where have you been trying to bluff your way through? Take some time to think through your actions.
