You are not promised health, wealth, and prosperity. As followers of Christ, you are promised the exact opposite! Persecution means you are subject to systematic harassment and attack due to your religious beliefs. While physical abuse may be a way down the road for Christians in America, other forms of harassment are underway. In the rest of the world, physical persecution is a reality that our brothers and sisters live with daily. In the 20th century, 45 million Christians were killed because of their association with the name of Jesus. We must understand the realities we face and prepare to give an answer for the hope we have!
2 Timothy 3:12: “Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”
