There are a few religious groups that claim to preach the truth about Jesus Christ. These groups preach a false gospel, and this needs to be pointed out in love and grace so that followers of these people and groups can begin to seek the truth. LDS, JW, Prosperity, Liberal Theology, and others are just a few. As a pastor, it grieves my heart to see folks pervert the free gift of grace available through Jesus Christ and add anything to salvation other than the blood of Jesus. It also grieves me to see teachers mishandle and twist the Bible to say what they want it to say. Instead of conforming their life and beliefs to the Word of God, they squeeze the Bible to fit their worldview. These groups are not the ones Paul had in mind when he rejoiced regardless of the motive of the preacher. They were preaching the truth about Jesus, not a corrupted version of Him.
Philippians 1:18: “But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice.”
