Do you remember the “No Fear” clothing from the ’90s? It was huge! I’m sure I’ve got a bunch of pictures from my middle school years, where all I wore was “No Fear.” This slogan is also a refrain in the Bible. We are not to fear anything because we are secure in Christ. This does not mean that our lives will be comfortable all the time, but we trust that God will provide and protect in His way and His timing. However, when we face our enemies, there is a tendency to fear. The verse before today’s talked about believers in Jesus living out their heavenly citizenship. Individually, we should not be scared if we do this. Corporately, as the church, we are to have unflinchable steadfastness and unity when face adversity. When individual Christians and the church stand in unity against evil, it serves as a witness to the world. We need to be better witnesses. Be brave. Be bold. Stand for truth.
Philippians 1:28: “Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.”
