Everybody worships something or someone. Worship is simply ascribing worth. Primarily, worship is about what occupies the number one spot in our life. So, who is number one in your life, in your heart, in your mind? What do you dwell on during the day? Enemies of the cross of Christ have themselves as numero uno. They are ruled by selfishness, self-indulgence, self-centeredness, and self-worship. Their belly is their god. Their lusts and earthly desires are gods. Christian, this IS not the case for you. Christ MUST be first in every part of life. Genuine worship of God involves our mind, will, emotions, and actions. Worship is expressing reverence and devotion to God by the way we live. Therefore, we will align every aspect of our lives to His standards. Anything less than absolute devotion to God is unacceptable in the Christian’s life. We devote ourselves to God because of what Christ has done for us. Spend some time on Thanksgiving evaluating what or whom you worship.
Philippians 3:19: “They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth.”
