Proverbs 1:23: “Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.”
I have a few friends that can silence a room when they start speaking. Wisdom and encouragement seem to ooze out of their skin. People get quiet when they start talking because they know they are about to learn something. The wise person is quick to listen and slow to speak, so you know when they speak up, whatever they say will have been well thought-out and timely. Thank you, Mike, Bruce, and Richard (you know who you are!). All three of these men have gained their wisdom from years and years of reading the Word of God. They have gone to the most incredible Counselor and sat at His feet. They soak up the wisdom found only from God and then freely disseminate that wisdom. They know they are merely conduits for the grace and counsel of God. I pray that you have counselors like this in your life, and I also pray you go to the Bible, believe its promises, obey its commands, and apply its principles.
