Are you feeling discouraged? Beat up? Down? Depressed? If so, let me ask how long it has been since you gathered with believers in Christ and honestly shared your heartache with them? Instead of offering the routine “I’m good” when responding to the question of how you are, why don’t you be honest? The church family is there to encourage you and lift you up. When you are too weak or are struggling, share the burden with the church. Most of the “one another” commands were written to the church body. Likewise, if you feel good and life is going well, look for someone you can encourage. Empathize with them, listen to their story, and then ask God if you are to do more than listen. Perhaps you can meet a need, help them see how God is already working, or just point them to Christ’s love. There may be days where we all need a swift kick in the rear to get moving. Perhaps today is the day. Go, demonstrate your faith by loving others and doing good works. Don’t wait, don’t delay! Go now!
Hebrews 10:24: “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”
