Pray31 – Day 6: Psalm 141:2

I remember when I was first exposed to incense, I went crazy! I loved the different smells and spent hours smelling the different sticks and cones. I wanted them all. When I found out our prayers go up to God like incense offerings, I wondered what His favorite scent was. And then I became a husband and dad and realized it wasn’t about the smell of the incense, but the conversation that happens in prayer. God wants us to talk to Him, to spend time with Him, and be honest with Him. After all, God already knows our thoughts and feelings, so if there is anyone we can be completely honest with, it’s Him. Talk to God. Be honest with God. Pray to God. Like a loving father that delights in time spent with their kids, God longs for time with you. Make it a priority.

Psalm 141:2: “Accept my prayer as incense offered to you, and my upraised hands as an evening offering.”
