Pray31 – Day 8: Jeremiah 29:7

When the nation of Israel was sent into exile, they had a lot of questions. They wondered why and how long. They also asked what they should do because exile was not their forever home. Through the prophet Jeremiah, they were encouraged to work for the good of the city they found themselves in. We should too. This earth is not our permanent home, but while we are here, we should be the best “strangers and aliens” as possible. Pray and work for where God has you. This could be your city, your job, your neighborhood, and your church. Pray and work.

Jeremiah 29:7: “And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”
