Pray31 – Day 30: 1 Peter 3:12

One of my favorite movies is “National Treasure.” Despite the bad acting and misunderstanding of history, it is entertaining. They briefly mention “The All-Seeing Eye” on the back of the $1 bill. The history behind this “Eye of Providence” and how it ended up on the national seal is beyond Hollywood. Despite the perversion of the idea by the Freemasons, the reality is that God is keeping watch over His world and keeping His ears open for the prayers of His people. If we do right, He listens. If not, He turns His face. Where would you rather be? In the light of God’s glory and grace or… somewhere else? I’ll take God every day of the week.

Father God, thank you for keeping an eye and an ear open for the prayers of your people. Help me to live in the way prescribed by Your Word. Help me avoid evil. I can’t do it without Your protection and guidance. Amen.

1 Peter 3:12: “The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.”
