Pray31 – Day 31: Revelation 8:4

We have reached the end of our Pray31 schedule. Granted, we were supposed to finish on March 31st, but it took me a bit longer to finish up. I’m so grateful for the grace of God and His people. Not just because a devotion gets done late, but because we make huge mistakes every day, and people are quick to forgive. God is quick to forgive too. He wants a relationship with each of us, and relationships take work, time, and sacrifice. When we prioritize God, His will, and His Word, prayer is a natural occurrence. We get filled by Him and pour out our life and language in adoration and praise of Him. Our communication with God becomes like the smoke of burning incense. It rises to God, and He breathes it in. I like to think this makes Him smile. I know my heart smiles when in fellowship with God.

Father God, thank you for the opportunity to pray to You. May our prayers be sweet to Your ears and a pleasing aroma. Help us continue in our prayer journeys, being mindful of how available You are. Amen.

Revelation 8:4: “The smoke of the incense, mixed with the prayers of God’s holy people, ascended to God from the altar where the angel had poured them out.”
