There is a correlation between being slow to anger, quick to listen and being wise. If you find yourself getting offended by things, thinking you know better, you’re not listening and learning to understand. People need to stop taking things so personally. But if you do take something personally, don’t become a bitter, passive-aggressive, divisive fool. Reconcile, don’t play the victim.
Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool. -Ecclesiastes 7:9 (NLT)
People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness. Wisdom is enshrined in an understanding heart; wisdom is not found among fools. -Proverbs 14:29, 33 (NLT)
Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. -James 1:19-20 (NLT)
