Avoid the Rumor Mill

The rumor mill is a dangerous place. Rumors are simply stories flying from one mouth to the next without any known authority for the truth of it (Webster’s 1828). What can seem like harmless chit-chat is a symptom of a diseased heart. We all want to be in the know, but at what cost? Relationships require accountability, vulnerability, and trust. The truth helps us love and serve one another in grace and humility. Don’t participate in rumors and gossip. Choose love. Choose truth. Guard your heart above all else.

Proverbs 26:22: “Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one’s heart.”
