Blue Pill or Red Pill

My friend and I were recently lamenting the craziness of the past 4-5 years and the massive amounts of disinformation and conspiracy theories being propagated by seemingly educated people. Additionally, my wife and I often mourn the loss of critical thinking skills being taught and used today. We have gone from being skeptical people to kool-aid drinkers. Folks, let’s be honest, you can’t believe everything you read inside your echo chamber online or on the TV. I firmly believe that reading needs to make a massive comeback, not just reading junk or stuff you agree with, but books and authors you usually wouldn’t. Honest journalists need to take back the media. We, the people, must not settle for anything less than integrity, transparency, and fairness. We must rediscover critical thinking skills of clarity, depth, breadth, fair-mindedness, and intellectual humility. Be prudent when sitting behind your keyboard with your warrior hat on—point people to Jesus, His unchanging Word, and endless Grace. Keep fighting the good fight of faith.

Proverbs 14:15: “Only simpletons believe everything they’re told! The prudent carefully consider their steps.”
