Watch my Feet

I was hunting with my dad once when we wandered into a patch of cactus. It was brutal. They were all over the place, and I had trouble seeing them. We would take a few steps, and then I’d have to stop so dad could pull the needles out of my feet. After a few minutes, dad turned around and told me not to look for the cactus but watch his feet. He wanted me to step where he was stepping so he could lead me out of danger. It worked! The Bible is a lot like my dads’ feet in this situation. If we stay close to God’s Word, learn it, and follow it, we don’t get poked by the needles of sin and ungodliness. Like the children’s song says, “O, be careful little feet where you go!” Let me ask you, who or what are you following? What path are you on? How can you get in step with God?

Proverbs 2:20: “So follow the steps of the good, and stay on the paths of the righteous.”
