Get to Walking

We don’t walk enough anymore. We are always in a hurry to get from place to place or task to task that we don’t “stop and smell the roses.” When was the last time you sat on a park bench for an hour and just thought? No phones. No distractions. Just time in thought. When was the last time you scheduled a lunch with a mentor or coach and showed up with twenty questions written down? How did we become so busy? We must surround ourselves with sources of wisdom if we want to be wise. We must walk with wise people or walk through wise books to grow. I encourage you to schedule that lunch next week (try to schedule one a week) or schedule a time to sit with a book this weekend with no agenda other than to learn something new. If you need a recommendation for a good, wise book, start with the Bible! If you want more suggestions, let me know, I’ve always got a book recommendation. 🙂 If you are a parent, look at who your kids are spending time with. Gently correct their course to spend more time with wise people. I’m grateful for all of the wise people that speak life, truth, and grace into my life. There are too many to name here but thank you! I am blessed.

Proverbs 13:20: “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get into trouble.”
