We are obsessed with being right. When others are wrong, or we think they are, we go out of our way to prove it. We don’t often care about the damage we leave in our wake. When we stand before God, we won’t be able to argue who is right and wrong. God is always right. When we find ourselves in disagreement with God or His Word, we can know we are in the wrong. When we believe in Jesus, we are clothed with the righteousness of God. I’ll be honest, I don’t understand this completely, but I’m grateful it is true. As Christians, we should be demonstrating the righteous character of Christ: holiness, humility, and justice. We should also be filled with the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5): love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This brings glory to God because it is God who produces this character through Christ.
Philippians 1:11: “May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.”
