MWM: Repeated Joy

Am I the only one that dreams about winning the lottery? I dream and strategize about the big bucks. What I would buy, who I would give money to, seeing a stranger’s face as they are handed a briefcase full of cash. Man, if only I had millions, life would be good! Even though a large percentage of lotto winners file bankruptcy, that wouldn’t be me—what a waste of head space. We can’t look to our circumstances to make us happy. When we do, and our circumstances change, so does our joy. Ultimate joy comes from Christ dwelling within us and working through us. Endless joy is the result of the presence of God in our hearts, lives, and thoughts. Joy is a settled trust in God’s sovereignty, love, and grace. The world needs more of this joy. I need more of this joy. Let us rejoice in the Lord!

Philippians 4:4: “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!”
