Pray31 – Day 3: Psalm 42:8

Psalm 42 is more known for its opening stanza, “As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.” This is a reminder that we are to go to God for living water. If you’ve ever run out of water on a hike or during a grueling sports match, you know thirst. Likewise, if you’ve ever experienced heartbreak, discouragement, sadness, or storms, you know that nothing satisfies like God. God is the giver and sustainer of life. God is the source of all comfort. God is holy and rightly to be praised. May you pray for a refreshing of the Lord’s love in your heart and mind. May you pray to God with passion and zeal.

Psalm 42:8: “But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.”
